SAN PABLO City, September 21, 2012—The San Pablo Youth Commission (SPYC) of the Diocese of San Pablo in Laguna will hold the 1st diocesan youth congress in preparation for the celebration of the ‘Year of Faith’ that will start on October 11, 2012.
According to Robson Tagle, a core-group member and the social media head of SPYC, the event is their response to the call of the Mother Church which is to activate the faith of the young.
“As the first youth congress in the diocese, the event will be a venue for youth leaders to discuss the issues that they are currently facing, particularly when it comes to faith,” Tagle said.
He added that the youth congress is different from other youth events in the diocese because this will be the first time that parish based youth and youth organizations present in the diocese will gather to discuss faith based youth issues.
“We also invited youth organizations so that we can provide them a venue for collaboration of activities and for them to know more about the other youth orgs present in the diocese,” Tagle furthered.
An estimated 200 plus youth coordinators and leaders from all over the diocese will attend the diocesan event.
With the theme “Activate the Faith”, the youth congress will be celebrated on September 22-23 at the Pacita Convention Center in San Pedro, Laguna. (Jandel Posion)
