CEAP to enhance efforts in instilling social values

MANILA, December 15, 2009—The Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) issued a statement that committed to intensify efforts to educate students on Christian values.

“We commit ourselves anew to intensified efforts in all our schools to educate our students in the Christian way of charity in truth, justice and peace,” it stated.

CEAP also said it will continue to instill among their student the value of social responsibility in the face of current socio-political issues in a plural religious and cultural setting.

“We pledge to form our students in the appreciation of democratic structures and of the social imperatives of living in a multi-religious, multi cultural free society, the group added.

The group plans to work hand-in-hand with the Christians and Muslims towards the leveling off of the social prejudices.

Led by President Msgr. Gerardo Santos, the CEAP officers who co-signed the statement are: Fr. Gregorio Bañaga, Jr., Vi Vice-President; Dr. Carmelita Quebengco, Secretary; and Bro. Armin Luistro, Treasurer.
