OZAMIZ CITY, Dec 13, 2009—The Paul VI Biblical Center for Mindanao has hosted the recently held First National Catholic Faith Defenders’ Retreat in Bañadero, Ozamis City.
Headed by Fr. Iluminado Rojo, MTS, Regional Director of the Paul VI Biblical Center for Mindanao, the Bible Apostolate Core Team of Immaculate Conception Cathedral Parish in Ozamiz City collaborated in organizing the event.
Elsie Quiboy of the Paul VI Biblical Center disclosed that the retreat is a way of internalizing the Word of God for those involved in apologetics.
Fr. Oscar Alunday, executive secretary of the CBCP’s Episcopal Commission for Biblical Apostolate (ECBA), underscored the values of the Bible and further discussed ways on how live the Word of God.
He also tackled on “how to walk humbly as partners of Christ in the work of evangelization.”
The topic which focused on “the heart of being Ambassador of Jesus Christ and Minister of Reconciliation” was discussed by Sr. Miriam Alejandrino, OSB, who served as the retreat facilitator.
She talked about the “Resolution for a Change of Conduct” that aimed to build peace in every person’s hearts, to build one resilient community and to bring Jesus to every family.
This was actively participated by different Catholic Faith Defenders Chapters in Visayas namely Bacolod, Iloilo, Bohol.
The sub-region of Mindanao like the Dipolog, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Iligan and Marawi (DOPIM), Davao, Digos, Tagum and Mati (DADITAMA) and Zamboanga, Basilan, Sulu, and Ipil (ZAMBASULI) also attended.
